AXA launches the first smartphone app for claims

We are the first insurer in Hong Kong to launch a smartphone app for motor claims. AXA SmartClaims makes it easier for you to handle motor accident on-the-spot!

Using AXA SmartClaims is as easy as 1-2-3:
  1. Store all your motor policies information under “My Profile” function in advance.
  2. In case of a car accident, record all accident details, refer to Claims Procedure under “My Claims” function for DOs and DON’Ts.
  3. Email all the details to AXA under “Motor Claim” function.
You may get further assistance if required, under “My Support” function. Otherwise, make your way to your selected repairer for speedy repair of your damaged vehicle.
 
Tips:
To be prepared for the expected, remember to input all your motor policies information under “My Profile” function in advance.

We may require additional information, documentation and proof of claims to be furnished by the Insured in support of his claim, depending on the circumstances of each case.

 
 
In case of a motor accident, our first goal is to have your car repaired to protect your rights and to determine clearly the respective responsibilities. This is why your cooperation, details, witness statements, photographs, etc. are so important to us.

Motor Accident Claim Procedure

In the event of a traffic accident,
 

Please do:

  • Keep calm and report to Police immediately
  • Check if any bodily injury involved, if so, try to record the particulars of the said party & the nature of injury
  • Record the Vehicle Registration No., Name, I.D. No., Address, etc. of all relevant Party(ies) involved
  • Inform us as soon as possible, and always WITHIN 7 DAYS
  • Complete a "Motor Accident Insurance Claim Form" provided by us and return with copy of Vehicle Registration Document, Driver's I.D. card and Driving Licence WITHIN 7 DAYS
  • Submit the estimate of repair costs to us as soon as possible (WITHIN 7 DAYS), if you have a Comprehensive policy
  • Pass all Summons, correspondences in relation to the accident to us UNANSWERED IMMEDIATELY
  • File a complaint to the Police always WITHIN 10 DAYS, when you find the other party(ies) at fault

Please do not:

  • Discuss or negotiate with other driver who was to blame
  • Admit or promise payment to any other party

AXA Premium Workshops (APW) are a group of specially selected and well-respected repairer partners. You will receive high quality workmanship and service on your vehicle as well as minimize your inconvenience whilst it is being repaired.

Benefits are:

  1. $300 travelling expenses allowance*
  2. up to a maximum of $3,000 for the depreciation on repair *#
    (subject to the final assessment on the total depreciation)

We GUARANTEE to conduct motor survey within 24 hours. If we fail, we will offer vehicle service coupons from our selected AXA Premium Workshops.

  • We will instruct motor surveyor to conduct motor survey on the vehicle upon receipt of full set of motor claim documents.
  • We will acknowledge and inform customers ‘when’ the survey will be conducted.
  • We will guarantee that surveyor inspects the damaged vehicle within 24 hours of survey instruction.
  • We will inform customers once the survey is done.
  • We will advise customers once the repair to the vehicle has been authorized.

Terms & Conditions
Our Guarantee is applicable and subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. This Guarantee is applicable to:
a. Our SmartDrive Private Car policies - Comprehensive cover
b. Vehicle damage claim other than total loss or windscreen damages

2. Subject to:
a. Premium fully settled
b. Receipt of fully completed Claim form, repair estimate & copy Vehicle Registration Documents
c. Scheduled time of survey agreed by all involved parties (if needed)
d. Full compliance & observance of the policy terms & conditions

3. Special Occasions - Survey may be conducted on the next working day after:
a. A Typhoon Signal No.8 and/or a Black Rain Storm Warning have been removed
b. All Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
